Abstract
Recently, the activated carbon industry has witnessed a high-level academic and industrial exchange event. At the end of November 2025, the "High-Quality Coal-Based Activated Carbon Application Seminar and Key Customer Negotiation Meeting", jointly hosted by Carbon Company and the Coal-Based New Materials Branch of the China Coal Processing and Utilization Association, came to a successful conclusion in Hami City, Xinjiang.
This conference gathered top wisdom in the industry, with leaders and experts from the Activated Carbon Professional Committee of the China Ordnance Industry Society, the Datong and Shanxi Activated Carbon Industry Associations, as well as scholars from well-known universities and institutions such as China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) and the China Coal Research Institute, all in attendance. The participating experts conducted special reports and discussions on topics such as "Scarce Resources Opening Up a New Situation for Coal-Based Adsorption Materials", "Development of Special Activated Carbon", and in-depth applications in areas such as waste gas purification and fermentation liquid decolorization. The conference clearly pointed out that relying on the unique high-quality scarce coal resources in Xinjiang and other places, China's coal-based activated carbon industry is accelerating towards high quality, functionalization, and high added value, and is committed to building a long-term win-win industrial ecosystem.
This meeting was not only a collision of ideas, but also a bellwether of the market. At the meeting, the Carbon Company signed on-site contracts with key customers and reached an agreement on the sales intention of approximately 20,000 tons of activated carbon, injecting strong market confidence into the industry.
